MANGILAO, Guam – Lana Quinata scored 44 points and Elysia Perez added 31 on nine three-pointers as Lady Nationals beat Fuetsa 102-84 in Wednesday night's Lady Triton Super League championship game at the UOG Calvo Field House.

Lady Nationals took control in the first quarter. With the game tied 5-5, they went on a 15-0 run, with Quinata scoring 10 of the 15, to take a 20-5 lead. Fuetsa went more than five minutes without a basket, and Lady Nationals led 24-9 after one.

Fuetsa played the second quarter even, outscoring Lady Nationals 26-25 behind 11 points from Anslie Sarsalejo and 10 from Dallas Martinez. Quinata kept pace with 15 points in the period, though, and Lady Nationals led 49-35 at the halftime break with Quinata at 27.

Elysia Perez broke the game open in the third quarter. She scored 17 points on five three-pointers, and Lady Nationals outscored Fuetsa 26-20 to lead 75-55 going into the fourth.

Perez faced a Fuetsa team without her sister. Nicolette Perez, who led Fuetsa with 27 points in Monday's semifinal, missed the title game because she traveled to basic training for the Air National Guard. Their mother, Barb Perez, plays and coaches for Fuetsa, putting the family on both sides of the matchup.

Fuetsa made a late push. It opened the final quarter with a 15-2 run, with Rosita Duenas hitting back-to-back threes, to cut the deficit to 80-73 with 6:23 left. Lady Nationals answered, with Quinata and Bri Benito leading the way, and closed the game on a 9-0 run to lead 97-79 with 1:08 to play. Fuetsa won the quarter 29-27 but could not get closer.

Quinata finished with 14 two-pointers, four threes and 4-for-5 at the line. Benito scored 11, Joylyn Pangilinan 10 and Derin Stinnet six. Lady Nationals made 14 threes as a team.

Martinez led Fuetsa with 23 points, followed by Sarsalejo with 22, Zcenly Peralta with 21 (10 in the fourth) and Duenas with 12. Dory Godoy added six.
